World Premiere
Feb 11- Mar 5
It’s a totally true story: 12-year old Andre the Giant, already over 6 feet tall and 240 pounds, didn’t fit on the school bus. Andre’s neighbor, as repayment of a favor, offered to drive Andre to school in his truck. The neighbor was Samuel Beckett. “Sam and Dede, or My Dinner with Andre the Giant,” imagines a series of scenes between a giant – a man who cannot hide, and a writer obsessed with silence. Dilorio fashions a world as absurd as a Beckett play itself.
With Dave Sikula* as Samuel Beckett and Brendan Averett** as Andre the Giant
Samuel Beckett. Andre the Giant. What could they possibly have in common?

“Rarely have I heard an opening night audience laughing with such glee at a new play, clearly wanting more. … a charming two-man play, a world premiere, takes on a realistic but ridiculous series of encounters and spins comic gold out of them.” https://forallevents.info/reviews/?s=barry+david+horwitz
“Dilorio’s dialogue sparkles with Beckett-style remarks while these two “giants” of the literary and wrestling worlds converse. The imaginary meetings involve conversations that are intelligent, witty, and bright.” https://www.talkinbroadway.com/page/regional/sanfran/s1543.html
