Custom Made Training
The Custom Made Theatre Company launched in December 2007. The feedback was sensational, and we’re working to build more classes at our new home at The Next Stage (Bush and Gough St.)
Custom Made also offers theatre-based team building workshops for organizations and companies throughout the Bay Area. Please visit this page again in the next few weeks for updated information. Core Acting Class

This 7 week course focuses on getting back to the core of acting – through exercises and focused scene study, participants will concentrate on the tenets of acting including:
- 'doing' rather than 'showing'
- listening and responding truthfully
- being 'in the moment'
- creating a role
- developing a physical character life
- exploring what 'raising the stakes' means
- proper breath, focus and relaxation
- engaging your body
- using improvisation as a tool
- letting go of limiting habits
7 weeks, Sundays, 5pm -8pm– Cost: $280 General Public, $250 TBA Members / Students / Seniors
Directing for the Small Theatre

This seven week course will take the early career director through all aspects of directing for the smaller stage from selecting scripts, working with stage managers and designers, casting, getting the most out of your actors and much, much more.
This class will be split between lecture, discussion and then working with actors on scene study to improve one's developing skills.
This class is for someone who is looking to get into directing for the many black box companies in the Bay Area or wants to hone their skills in a safe, supportive environment.
7 weeks, Sundays, 2pm -5pm– Cost: $280 General Public, $250 TBA Members / Students / Seniors
