May we recommend…Cabaret!
CMTC, when not busy with its own shows, likes to support the productions of other companies in the Bay Area theater community. Sometimes CMTC members work for other companies, and we always like to know about the latest projects of alumni of the CMTC stage. Periodically we will pass on a recommendation.
Opening soon is Kander and Ebb’s Cabaret. This production is based on the edgier, sexier Sam Mendes rivival and stars Corinne Proctor as Sally Bowles. Corinne dynamically portrayed Saint Monica in CMTC’s production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. CMTC member Eric O’Kelly (Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You/The Actor’s Nightmare) co-stars. The production is directed by Hector Correa, with choreography by Cera Byer and music direction by Diego Emir Garcia.
Cabaret will perform January 19 thru February 19 at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. The show will then move to Larkspur and perform March 1 thru April 15 at the Cafe Theatre.
